Afterwards, the students were divided into two groups and guided through the factory hall. There they were given interesting insights into the production processes of the various machines and into the robot system house applications. Due to the production of unique machines and the international export to over 70 countries, all machines have their individual processes and applications. The students - especially those from other fields of study - were impressed.

At the end of the factory tour, the excursion participants had the opportunity to ask further questions. Dr. Groß emphasized and highlighted the good cooperation with working students and interns at Heinz Berger Maschinenfabrik.

Students visit the Heinz Berger Maschinenfabrik

On 10.05.2016 students of the University of Wuppertal were guests of the Heinz Berger Maschinenfabrik GmbH & Co. KG in Wuppertal-Cronenberg. They were accompanied by Julia Lohre (Department of Innovation and Environment of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce Wuppertal-Solingen-Remscheid) as well as Julian Bagawathsing and Samira da Silva (both Science Transfer Office of the University of Wuppertal).

Managing Director Dr. Andreas Groß welcomed the students and presented the main products of the Berger Group: Machines that process household and machine knives, cutlery, surgical instruments, tools as well as cast and forged parts. The focus of the manufactured machines is the processing and finishing of metal strips and workpieces.
