This was followed by a guided tour through one of the three building complexes. The students were given an insight into areas of marketing, corporate management and output management with the in-house print office. The students were particularly impressed by the representation floor with its view over the city of Wuppertal. After the end of the guided tour and a joint lunch, the students had time for a get-together at the presentation tables to exchange ideas and clarify questions.
Students visit Barmenia
About 20 students of the BUW visited the Barmenia AG in Wuppertal on 25 May. They were accompanied by Julia Lohre (Department of Innovation and Environment of the Wuppertal-Solingen-Remscheid Chamber of Commerce and Industry) as well as Iris Rudolph, Samira da Silva and Katharina Niepieklo from the Transfer Office of the University of Wuppertal.
The visitors were welcomed at Barmenia by Werner Mittelstädt (Head of the Personnel Management Department) and Monika Hentschel (Personnel Management). After a short introduction of the company, the students were able to inform themselves in small groups about different company divisions and ask questions. The topics discussed included company health management, family and career, jobs and internships as well as sustainability and social commitment of the company.
